Douglas, Isle of Man 07/31/07: Neteller, the global online e-wallet, announced that US based customers have access to their accounts and can now withdraw their funds.


US customers will be able to login to their Neteller accounts until 26 January, 2008, and make a withdrawal request for their funds. Funds can be withdrawn either by electronic transfer to the bank account on record with Neteller, or by a check to be sent to the customer's address.

No transactions other than the withdrawal of the entire balance is allowed, and the Neteller account will then be permanently closed. Read more

EcoCard Team 07/30/07: ECOCard is no longer processing gambling transactions for US customers

Washington D.C. 06/13/07: On June 6, 2007 U.S. Rep Barney Frank introduced H.R. 2046, a bill which would essentially create exemptions to the online gambling ban for properly licensed operators. Read more

Rep. Barney Frank (D-MA) introduced H.R. 2046, the Internet Gambling Regulation and Enforcement Act of 2007 that would create an exemption to the ban on online gambling for properly licensed operators, allowing Americans to lawfully bet online. Watch video

Traditional gambling is legal in virtually every state, which left Frank with questions regarding the continued online gambling ban. His opinion is that the ban, which prevents players from using their credit cards to place bets online, is inappropriate and interferes with American citizens’ personal freedoms.

If the online gambling prohibition continues, Frank says, Americans who bet online will be at an even higher risk due to the absence of safeguards. H.R. 2046, however, would ensure that online gamblers are of legal age and currently reside in a state where online gambling is legal.
